Get ready for an exciting week of activities as Qatar hosts its first ever Toy Festival in addition to a range of invaluable workshops and summer camps at Qatar Museums. For those looking to stay fit this summer, head to West Bay Beach for a rejuvenating yoga session or have a fun-filled family outing at the 3-2-1 Summer Sports Fun Factory.

Qatar Toy Festival

The Qatar Toy Festival kicked off this weekend with your favorite characters from Disney Princess, Blippi, CoComelon, Barbie, Hot Wheels and more. From exciting stage shows to festive roaming acts, the festival has something for everyone. Adding to the fun, the festival will also host popular social media influencers from the Gulf. Entrance to the festival is ticketed, with tickets to be bought at Virgin Megastores.

Date: July 13 – August 5, 2023

Timings:

  • Daily: 2 pm – 10 pm
  • Weekends: 2pm – 11pm

Location: Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC)

3-2-1 Summer Sports Fun Factory

Play, learn and have heaps of fun at the 321 Sports Fun Factory. Held for the first time at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Fun Factory aims to build on existing skills while teaching new skills for all participants. You could visit either the morning or afternoon session and enjoy a variety of activities designed for everyone!

Date: July 15 – August 25, 2023

Timings:

  • 10 am – 11:30 am
  • 4 pm – 5:30 pm

Qatar Foundation Ladies Night

Grab your girlfriends and head to Education City Stadium for a fun-filled Ladies Night featuring a variety of activities from pilates to functional fitness. Entrance is free, however registrations are required prior to visit.

Date: July 19, 2023

Timings: 6 pm – 10 pm

Location: Education City Stadium. (Main entrance point at Gate 35)

Access: Free. Registration required.

Painting your thoughts

For children between the ages of 8-12 years, the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ), will be hosting an art workshop that aims to enhance the participants’ well-being through artistic exploration. During the workshop participants will explore how certain words can evoke different emotions, memories and thoughts and create mixed media artwork that reflect their identity. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the temporary exhibits by Pipilotti Rist and Olafur Eliasson at NMOQ.

The workshop is ticketed and by registration only.

Location: Learning Studio, National Museum of Qatar  

Access: QAR 50 per child. 8-12 year olds only. Registration required.

Bookmaking and mixed media workshop

Children between the ages of 8-12 can explore the different art mediums at Mathat: Arab Museum of Modern Art. During this workshop children will learn about different concepts and practices in modern and contemporary art by drawing inspiration from the existing exhibitions and permanent collections at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art.

Entry to the workshop is ticketed and by registration only. Interested participants are required to register for both sessions.

Access: QAR 100 per child. 8-12 year olds only. Registration required.

Olympics and mental health

Designed around the theme of well-being, the Olympic and Mental Health workshop with take place over two days at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum. Access is ticketed at QAR 100 per child and by registration only.

Timings: 9 am – 1 pm

Access: QAR 100 per child. 8-12 year olds only. Registration required.   

Make a creative tufting art piece

Let your little ones unleash their creativity at the tufting workshop at Bin Jelmood House, in Msheireb. Participants will be allowed to design their own tufted creations and take home their vibrant art works. Access is ticketed at QAR 500 per child and by registration only.

Date: July 18-19, 2023

Timings: 4 pm – 8 pm

Location: Bin Jelmood House, Msheireb Museums

Access: QAR 500 per person. From 12+ years. Registration required

Paper Craft Workshop

Register your kids for the paper craft workshop at Katara and watch them create some delightful artworks. The workshop will be held on July 19, 2023 at the Katara Art Studios and will be by registration only.

Timings: 5 pm – 7 pm

Location: Katara Art Studios, Building 19

Access: QAR 50 per child. Registration required

Summer Camp 2023: World Discovery by KidZania

Learn about Indonesia’s culture, history and traditions at the World Discovery by KidZania Summer Camp at Qatar National Library. Participants of the camp will also get the opportunity to learn about the country’s different languages, food and traditional dances.

Date: July 16-20, 2023

Timings: 10 am – 1 pm

Location: Auditorium, Qatar National Library

Access: For 4-12 year olds. Registration required.  

Hatha Yoga

Get fit at West Bay Beach this summer by signing up for their Hatha Yoga class. The classes will take place every Friday and Saturday at 8 pm for a duration of 90 minutes. Walk ins are welcome!
