This week promises to be a fun-filled one with multiple events, workshops and activities for everyone. Kids can join the summer camps at Katara or 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum while adults can enjoy some shopping at the Summer Bazaar or Souq Waqif Dates Festival.

If you are looking for things to do this week, here’s Qatar’s line up of exciting events from July 23 – July 29, 2023.

Summer Carnival

Mall of Qatar is all set to elevate your shopping experience this week with its one of a kind summer carnival. Enjoy the rhythmic beats of the summer carnival as you shop at Mall of Qatar! Immerse yourself in a vibrant world of captivating roaming shows, a parade of drummers, jugglers and more.

Date: July 20 –July 29, 2023

Timings: 4 pm, 5:30 pm, 7 pm & 8:30 pm

Summer Bazaar

Step into the Summer Bazaar at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) and discover a wide variety of carpets, abayas, dresses, accessories and more. The Summer Bazaar is ongoing at DECC, Hall 5 and is free for everyone.

Date: July 20 – July 29, 2023

Timings:

  • Daily: 10 am – 10 pm
  • Friday: 3 pm – 10 pm

Location: Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC)

Access: Free entry

Dadu Planet Camp

Looking for fun ways to keep your little ones entertained? Sign them up at the Dadu Planet Camp taking place at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum for children between the ages of 8-12. The camp will take place over five days and will include a variety of exciting activities such as building a rocket, observing and drawing, designing an encampment amongst others. Registrations are required prior to visit.

Date: July 23 – July 27, 2023

Timings: 9 am – 1 pm

Location: 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum

Access: QAR 650 per child. Registrations required. Ages 8-12.

Virtual Reality (VR) Workshop

Master your skills in Virtual Reality (VR) by joining the VR Workshop conducted by Mohammed Faraj Al-Suwaidi at M7. At the workshop you will learn to apply its design principles to draft in addition to developing and fabricating your own unique accessory designs using VR and 3D modelling tools. The workshop is ticketed at QAR 460 per person and registrations are required prior to visit.

Location: M7, Floor 1 – Creative Learning Space

Access: QAR 460 per person. Registrations required

Qatar Toy Festival

Have you been to the Qatar Toy Festival as yet? Having sold out in its first week, the Qatar Toy Festival includes a variety of exciting entertainment for everyone. You can meet your favorite characters from Disney Princess, Blippi, CoComelon, Barbie, Hot Wheels and more or enjoy the exciting stage shows and festive roaming acts. Adding to the fun, the festival will also host popular social media influencers from the Gulf. Entrance to the festival is ticketed, with tickets to be bought at Virgin Megastores.

Date: July 13 – August 5, 2023

Timings:

  • Daily: 2 pm – 10 pm
  • Weekends: 2pm – 11pm

Access: From QAR 50 per person (Tickets via Virgin Megastores)

Hot Air Balloon Paper Craft Workshop

If your kids enjoy art work, sign them up for the Hot Air Balloon Paper Craft workshop at Katara. The workshop will be carried out in both English and Arabic with a registration fee of QAR 70 per child.

Date: July 24, 2023

Timings: 5 pm – 9 pm

Location: Building 19, Katara Art Studios

Access: QAR 70 per child. Ages 5+. Registrations required

Katara Summer Camp

Katara has planned a variety of activities for children in its annual summer camp. While the camp is free to attend registrations are required.

Date: July 23 – August 15, 2023

Timings: 10 am – 7 pm

Location: Katara South Side

Access: Free. Registrations required.

Souq Waqif Dates Festival

If you are looking to stock up on your dates, the Souq Waqif Dates Festival is back. Organized by the Ministry of Municipality and Souq Waqif management, the festival will feature more than 100 local farms who will showcase their products. Taking place at the Al Ahmed Square in Souq Waqif, the festival is an excellent place to shop for dates, date syrup, date powder, date butter and more.

Date: July 27 – August 5, 2023

Timings:

  • Daily: 3 pm – 9 pm
  • Weekends: 3 pm – 10 pm

Access: Free

Volleyball Challenger Cup

For the first time in Qatar and the Middle East, the Volleyball Challenger Cup is all set to take place from July 28 – July 30 at the Aspire Zone, Gymnasium. Eight teams will be participating in the tournament with the final scheduled to take place on July 30, 2023.

Access: Free

3-2-1 Summer Sports Fun Factory

Play, learn and have heaps of fun at the 321 Sports Fun Factory. Held for the first time at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Fun Factory aims to build on existing skills while teaching new skills for all participants. You could visit either the morning or afternoon session and enjoy a variety of activities designed for everyone!

  • 10 am – 11:30 am
  • 4 pm – 5:30 pm
