Summer is fast approaching and temperatures are rising. There’s only a few more weeks left to enjoy the outdoors at bearable temperatures before it gets scorching hot. This is your chance to explore some of Qatar’s beaches and enjoy the outdoors while you can.
Here’s a list of public beaches in Qatar for you to explore and enjoy.
Fuwairit Beach
Head over to Fuwairit Beach to soak in the mesmerizing views of its turquoise waters and golden sands. The beach is a popular site for hawksbill turtles to lay their eggs during the months of April – July. While the beach might be closed for visitors during this period, once opened it is an excellent spot for thrilling activities such as kite surfing or leisurely activities such as swimming, long walks or even a barbeque.
With lime stones, pebbles and shells scattered along the coast, it is best to wear waterproof shoes to ensure a hassle-free experience. As the beach has no facilities including washrooms, it is advisable to come well prepared.

Access: Some off-road driving, however a 4x4 is not required.
Location: Al Ghariyah (Northeast of Qatar)
Al Maroona Beach (French Beach)
Located in the northeast part of Qatar just south of Fuwairit Beach, Al Maroona Beach is popular for its tranquil ambience and clear waters. The shallow waters during low tide make it an excellent spot for swimming while its golden sands are perfect for long walks along the beach. As there are no options for food and beverages near the beach, it is best to bring some snacks and refreshments to enjoy after an exhilarating swim. Throw in an umbrella, sun hat, some sunscreen and a mat or blanket to ensure you have the quintessential beach experience.

Location: Al Ghariyah (Northeast of Qatar, South of Fuwairit Beach)
Sealine Beach
Giving panoramic views of Qatar’s rolling sand dunes, Sealine Beach is a popular spot for everyone at any time of the year. At Sealine Beach, you can enjoy a leisurely ride on a camel, a thrilling drive along the dunes in a quad bike or splash around the beach’s welcoming waters. The beach is also an excellent spot for fishing and barbeques. There are multiple kiosks and stalls for snacks and refreshments off the beach making it easy for you enjoy a delicious meal at the end of the day.
Facilities: Washrooms and food and beverage kiosks available off the beach
Access: parking is available. You can park and walk to the beach or if you prefer, drive up close to the beach in a SUV.
Location: Mesaieed (South of Qatar)
Inland Sea (Khor al Adaid)
If you would like a bit of adventure during your beach trip, head over to the Inland Sea off Sealine desert. Located on the border between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, the Inland sea offers spectacular views of the rolling sand dunes in the desert and the turquoise waters of the beach. At Inland Sea you can enjoy a leisurely walk, soak in the views of the surrounding landscape and have a swim or even a delicious barbeque. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some migratory birds such as seagulls and flamingoes.
To visit Inland Sea, it is best that you go with an experienced driver as off-road driving is required. As there are no facilities, it is best you go prepared with all essentials.

Location: Khor al Adaid
Umm Bab Beach
Dotted with palm trees along its golden sands, Umm Bab Beach is located in a secluded spot in Al Shahniyah. At Umm Bab Beach you can enjoy some swimming and even take some instagram-worthy shots as you explore the landscape. If you’re lucky you might even spot some camels taking a leisurely stroll.
Access: Some off road driving, a 4x4 is preferable.
Location: Umm Bab (West coast of Qatar)
Al Ghariyah Beach
Located in the North of Qatar, Al Ghariyah Beach is a sandy oasis that is popularly visited by those who love beach sports such as beach volleyball and football. While the beach itself does not have any facilities, you can enjoy these games if you bring your own gear. With soft sands and turquoise waters, the beach is also an excellent spot for a leisurely stroll or a quick swim.

Location: Al Ghariyah (Northeast of Qatar)
Azerbaijani Beach
Blessed with crystal clear shallow waters, Azerbaijani Beach is an excellent spot for a family outing. Adults can enjoy a barbeque, while the kids splash around the shallow waters. There is some off road driving required, hence it is best visited in a 4x4.

Location: Northeast coast of Qatar
Dukhan Public Beach
A beach that is easily accessible on the West coast of Qatar, Dukhan Beach has a picturesque landscape with rocky cliffs and inviting waters. The tranquil ambience at the beach makes it the perfect spot to unwind with friends and family.
Access: No off-road driving required.
Location: Dukhan
