Fun routes for long walks in Qatar
A long walk exploring some of Doha’s most popular destinations on foot is just the activity to make the most of Qatar’s cool winter weather.
From everyone’s favorite Doha Corniche to the glamorous Al Maha Island, here is a list of places you can explore this winter in Qatar.
Hotel Park - Old Doha Port
Take in the spectacular views of the Doha skyline as you walk along the Doha Corniche from Hotel Park to Old Doha Port. Enjoy excellent photo ops along the route including the famous Flag Plaza and the picturesque Mina District.

Msheireb Downtown Doha – Hotel Park
A 10 minute walk from Qatar’s largest metro station that is well connected to key locations across Qatar, is the smart and sustainable Msheireb Downtown Doha. Marvel at the architecture of the futuristic town that is a seamless blend of traditional and modern concepts. A couple of minutes away is the bustling Souq Waqif, Qatar’s most popular tourist hotspot offering a range of products and eateries. Head over to Souq Waqif through Wadi Msheireb Street before making your way to the Corniche along Jassim Bin Mohammed Street. You can extend your walk by exploring the winding roads of the Souq or simply head over to the Doha Corniche to complete your walk.

5/6 Park – Marsa Katara, Katara Cultural Village
Start your walk at the 5/6 Park and head over to the scenic Katara Hills by way of Al Khafji Service Street. From there, make your way to the popular Katara beach and walk along the boardwalk to the pier leading to Marsa Katara.

Qanat Quartier Canal– Porto Arabia
A walk through Qatar’s little Venetian Quarter is an absolute delight. From the colorful buildings lining the canal to the quaint little bridges dotted across the quarter, there are several photo opportunities along this route. Once you are done exploring the Venetian Quarter, head over to the Island’s most popular destination – Medina Centrale before finishing your walk at the Pearl Fountain in Porto Arabia.

Lusail South Promenade – Al Maha Island
Both Lusail and Al Maha Island are on everyone’s radar after the World Cup. While Al Maha Island is a celebrity hot spot, the Lusail Marina is always a fan favorite for its scenic walks. You can start your walk at the Lusail South Promenade and make your way to the Lusail Marina offering break taking views of the sea. Stop at the ‘I love Lusail’ statue for a quick picture and continue on to the Lusail Corniche. Enjoy the views of the Lusail skyline before completing your walk at the glamorous Al Maha Island.
