How to help Morocco earthquake victims from Qatar
The Morocco earthquake has left massive destruction in its wake, causing loss to many lives and livelihoods. The State of Qatar is doing its best to help the sisterly nation of the Kingdom of Morocco with several rescue teams directed to them and even financial aid from Qatar’s charitable organizations. Thousands of people need food, shelter, basic supplies, emergency medical supplies, and other things and here’s how you can help.
Here are seven ways to donate to help the people of Morocco during this untimely crisis:
Talabat
The easiest way to donate to this disaster relief is through the talabat app. Open the talabat app and check under the Charities tab to find Qatar Red Crescent. Here you have the option of donating denominations starting from QAR 100. talabat has further pledged to donate QAR 1 directly from every order on Help Morocco towards earthquake relief.
Snoonu
Snoonu users can also make direct donations starting QAR 100 denominations on the app by clicking on Qatar Red Crescent and donating to the cause.
Qatar Charity website
Qatar Charity has also made calls on social media to the general public to graciously donate towards the Moroccan earthquake cause. They have added a link to their website which takes you to the campaign page and has options for different donation packages. These allow you to decide if you want to a specific project like food aid or some other project in the Morocco relief campaign.
GlobalGiving – Morocco Earthquake Relief Fund
GlobalGiving has started an online funding campaign where anyone can donate to the cause on their campaign page. The donations will be used to provide clean water, food, and medicine to survivors in addition to providing shelter and temporary housing for those who lost their homes. The donations will also aid in supporting long-term recovery and economic relief efforts in addition to other noble causes.
GlobalGiving also gives you transparency by providing you with impact reports of your donation.
Doctors without Borders
Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors without Borders, is a non-profit French-based organization that provides humanitarian medical aid to people in crisis. Though they currently do no have an official presence on ground in Morocco, they are partnering up with local agencies to provide assistance in every way they can.
UNICEF – Morocco Earthquake
UNICEF is currently on the ground and in the process of assessing the needs of affected children in the Moroccan earthquake crisis. You can directly visit their website and donate to the cause. Donations can be nominal or even as low as $75 and go upwards.
CARE - Morocco Earthquake Emergency Fund
CARE has mobilized a swift Earthquake Response for Morocco and their primary focus is girls, women, the elderly, and families with young children, alongside other affected people. They also provide aid to those who cannot access other emergency services. Head over to their website and donate directly to the fund.
