Summer in Qatar has temperatures soaring and everyone looking forward to cool drinks and ice cream to beat the heat. Summer also means it is officially mango season as everyone rushes for the majestic fruit in large quantities. Mango-based ice cream, juice, and dessert are in the spotlight as restaurants try to make the most of the fruit this season.

If you are looking for something fancier and more unique than the usual mango ice cream or mango juice, we have just the list for you. Here are some unique mango desserts to try in Qatar during the summer.

Mango sticky rice

Mango sticky rice is a classic Thai dessert, also known as Khao niaow ma muang, and is definitely something to check out if you are a mango lover. The dish includes sweet, sticky rice flavored with coconut milk and served with juicy, fresh mangoes. This delectable mango dessert is a staple in many Thai restaurants and is best tried during summer for the freshest mango pairing.

Aamras puri

Aamras puri is another mango dish you absolutely must try especially if you love the combination of sweet and salty. Aamras translates to mango pulp and is eaten quite a lot in the Indian subcontinent. It is paired with puri, also known as deep-fried Indian flatbread and the combination of cold, sweet aamras with salty-deep fried hot puris makes for a delightful experience.

Mango Falooda

Why have boring icecream when you can have mango falooda which is a delicacy to try in peak mango season. The dessert is an amalgamation of fresh mango ice-cream in mango smoothie with additional nuts, pieces of mang fruit, sweet vermicelli, jelly, and basil seeds. The dish is served ice-cold and is the perfect summer ice cream sundae to try.
