Doha Metro service hours extended on Thursdays and Fridays

By QLNews

Great news for Doha Metro users! Operational hours for the metro service have been extended on Thursdays and Fridays.

According to an announcement by Qatar Rail on its twitter page, the longer hours will be effective from this week.

The new timings for the Doha Metro service will be:

On Thursdays - 6.00 am to 11.59 pm

On Fridays - 2 pm to 11.59 pm

The hours of operation on other days of the week remain the same i.e. Sunday - Wednesday 6 am to 11 pm.

Doha Metro currently operates three lines. It began its operations in May last year with the Red Line, followed by the opening of the Gold Line in November. The newest line to be operational on the Doha Metro network is the Green Line, which was opened to the public last month

Metro users can interchange between Red Line, Gold Line, and Green Line at Musheireb station.

Rides cost QAR 2 for a single journey and QAR 6 for a day pass (Standard) while those traveling the Goldclub class will be charged QAR 10 and QAR 30, respectively.

The fee for acquiring a Standard Travelcard is QAR 10 while the Goldclub card costs QAR 100 (valid for five years from the date of purchase); credits for travel have to be added on to these cards. Children aged below five can travel for free.
