Eid 2018: Your guide to Eid Al Adha events and activities in Qatar
Eid Al Adha is around the corner, so we've put together a list of events and activities for those of you staying in Qatar for the festivities.
The first day of Eid Al Adha is expected to be on Tuesday, August 21st, 2018.
Eid Al Adha holidays for ministries and other government entities and public institutions will start on Sunday, Dhu al-Hijja 8, 1439 AH, corresponding to August 19, 2018 and end on Sunday, Dhu al-Hijja 15, 1439 AH corresponding to August 26, 2018.
Employees are to resume their work on Monday, August 27.
Ministry working hours
Ministry of Interior Departments that serve the public such as General Directorate of Passports, Unified Services Department, General Directorate of Traffic and Criminal Evidences and Information Department will work from 8 am to 12 pm.
Eid prayer
- The Costa Fanar Mosque in The Pearl will have khutbah in English this Eid.
Katara
Katara will host activities and festivities from Tuesday 21st to Friday 24th. The festivities, which will mainly take place on the Katara Beach, are expected to attract thousands of families, children and other holidaymakers.
The evenings' activities will kick off with the Qatari Police Musical Band performance from 8:15 - 8:40 pm, followed by the Eidiyet Katara event. The band will perform a second time between 9:15 and 9:45 pm.
Expect the annual fireworks show at 9:45 pm at the beach each night to cap the festivities.

Mall Shows and Activities
Eid celebrations in Qatar are not complete without shows and activities for children. All the malls that are participating in the Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) will host a variety of shows throughout the five days of Eid.
Angry Birds World
What: A park holding over 20 rides and attractions featuring the Angry Birds characters. Food and beverages are also available.

Entry Fee: QAR 150 per person (QAR 15 car, QAR 135 credit)
SpongeBob SquarePants Live Show
Where: Mall of Qatar
When: 11 am, 2:30 pm, 5:30 pm, 9:30 pm (the show lasts for 30 minutes)

Where: Lagoona Mall (North Court Lobby)

KidzMondo
Located in Mall of Qatar, KidzMondo is an international edutainment park, suitable for children between 2 and 14 years old. This park provides children with a range of activities to do related to various professions that the children will play. They get to explore and learn about the various roles adults play while enjoying their time. The city can hold up to 800 children at any point in time, supervised by a team of more than 115 educators.

Summer Entertainment City
A variety of activities such as shows, rides, trampolines, bouncy castles, arcades and games are available at Entertainment City until September 1st. It counts more that 75 activities and games and more than 40 food options.
Where: Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC)
When: May 30th to September 1st
Price: QAR 15 per visitor for General Entry and QAR 135 per visitor for a Gold Pass.
