WATCH: Exploring Qatar - Al Samariyah Farm

In today's edition of QL Flashback Fridays, we take a look back at our visit to one of Qatar's most beautiful farms, the Al Samariyah Farm, located in the municipality of Al Shahaniyah.

The lush green farm, which is home to some gorgeous animals such as oryx, gazelles, and peacocks, is a must-visit spot for nature-lovers in Qatar.

Housed within the farm is Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani’s prestigious Al Samriyah Equestrian Academy that offers group and private horse riding lessons for adults and children as young as four years old.

Additionally, the center also organizes promenades in the forest, competitions, clinics, pony days/ camps and lessons as an after-school activity, among its other offerings.

The center's stables, installed in 2013, feature a wonderful collection of horses. 

This is also the only place in Qatar where you can ride a horse out in the open surrounded by the scenic natural greenery. 

The beautiful grounds of the farm also make it an ideal place for a getaway from the busy Doha life.

While exploring this place, Jorge from the Qatar Living team speaks to one of the instructors at the equestrian center to gain more insights into the facility. 

The center also right next to the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Museum on the way to Dukhan. The museum is a valuable resource for scholars, educational institutions and schools, as well as a tourist destination in its own right. 

The museum preserves a diverse and eclectic body of works, spanning from the Jurassic age through to the early Islamic period and up to the present day, across four themes: Islamic Art, Qatar Heritage, Vehicles, and Coins & Currency.
