This weekend has an excellent lineup of exciting outdoor events that will appeal to both families and individuals, so get off whatever device you’re reading this on and get out there!
 
 
The Biryani Festival 
Organised by Four and One, this four-day event is the first of its kind in Qatar.
 
45 exhibitors are offering over 100 types of biryani, including Mughlai, Lucknow gosht, Kashmiri vegetable, mussels, prawns, hara macchi, egg, harkmas (beef), Malabar chicken, Mattanjery chicken, Kayikka’s beef, Thalassery mutton, the traditional Afghani and Irani.
 
Entry is free and features celebrity oriental chefs, competitions, games and a kid’s play zone.

When: 7th February - 10th February, 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm
 
 
Al Shaqab Community Fair
Al Shaqab is organising a series of Community Fairs as part of its community engagement initiative, as a member of Qatar Foundation. Entry to the event is free.
 
The inaugural Al Shaqab Community Fair, will feature Qatari products like honey, flowers and Kanar, the fruit of the Sidra Tree, which is an iconic symbol of the Qatar’s heritage.
 
Kids can participate in a Flower Planting Competition. Prizes will be awarded to the best growing plant 2 weeks after the end of the Community Fair. Bouncing castles and pony rides will also be available.
 
QBG and Baladiya will also hold two workshops during the fair:
 
Workshop 1 - Journey Into Flowers, 10:00 – 11:00 am
Workshop 2 - Future Proofing – Growing Plants for Qatar, 11:00 am – 12:00 noon

When: 11th February - 17th February, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm
 
3. Laugh Out Loud with Wacky Kiray and Boobita
 
The Laugh Out Loud Comedy Show 2018 premieres this weekend with two hilarious comedians, Wacky Kiray and Boobita. Entry to the event is free.
 
The annual comedy show is sure to get laughs not only from the Filipino community, but everyone else too. The age limit is 16 years old and above, and attendees must present QID or Passport.
 
Where: InterContinental Doha The City
When: 9th February, 5:00 pm onwards
 
4. Al Khor Fly-In
 
The 2018 Al Khor Fly-In, sponsored by Ooredoo, is now in its 10th year. The event is designed to encourage aviation enthusiasts and those interested to visit Al Khor and see the range of planes and aviation technology available.
 
Entry to the event is free, with plenty of family-friendly activities. Visitors can see a range of light aircraft on display, as well as interact with the pilots.
