"Qatar has developed a lot since my last visit" is a common expression of any returning visitor. The first thought that would cross your mind when thinking about an Arabian country would be riding through the red sand dunes on a camel back.
Apparently, Qatar has a lot more than just sand dunes. The country has a balance between the new flanged architecture and primordial ethics.
People often paint a different picture regarding the country, they lead you to the point in believing that Qatar is an extremely strict country, but that's certainly is not the case.
Although, the culture and traditions are very different to Western values, you will inquisitively admire how preciously the country has preserved its ethics.
You are undeniably bound to be astonished when you witness how diverse Qatar is, there are people from almost all parts of the world living and working in this Arabian Peninsula.

Explore The Museum Of Islamic Art
Museum of Islamic Art is an iconic building in Corniche. It represents Islamic art for over 1400 years from three different continents. The architecture of the building was designed by the world's renowned architect I.M Pei.
Stroll Through The Souq Waqif
"Souq" in Arabic means Market. Souq Waqif is always abuzz with people walking through the narrow alleys of the historical traditional market doing window shopping, or enjoying shishas.
The souq houses various shops, boutique hotels and number of restaurants serving authentic international cuisines like Italian, Malaysian, French, Moroccan etc.
Visit The Aspire Tower
The Aspire Tower or The Torch Hotel, is the tallest building in the country. Standing 300 meter tall, this was recognised as the focal point for the 15th Asian Games, hosted in the year 2006 by Qatar.

Pearl Qatar, is a rivera style man-made island, spread over four million square meters. Pearl Qatar is the home to massive yachts. You can simply sit in one of the many restaurants or coffee shops, sipping a cup of coffee by facing the harbour.

Brit, Both are neighbours ...... so , no difference ..... in the sand & water ...... but great difference in the aura & waves of persons' brain from these two places ..... Dubai residents get on their streets in the night what they keep thinking about in the day ........ here opposite is true .... Doha residents find in the morning what they look for in the night ...............

There's nothing worth the while here....we are here just to work and enjoy Eid holiday in Dubai.
WT: Well said. Cities like London, New York, Paris, Monaco, Cairo have their own soul and ambience. The problem with many of the cities in the GCC , including Riyadh and much of Doha is that there has been a push for architecture, but the cities have no soul. They feel artificial and santised.
What the answer is ? I don't know
It's amazing what money can buy. But it can't buy soul and ambiance. That's what people bring, for free.
What we see in this world is a reflection of it's residents minds / thoughts / desires / dreams ............. same is true for every city / place ............. we find what we look for ............. .....................
