Qatar's Top Night Food Hubs
While Qatar looks beautiful in the day, it really comes alive at night, and one of the things that stands out is the growing food truck and night food market scene. Over the past few years, the night food market trend has been flourishing in Qatar, offering foodies not only delicious dishes but also Instagram-worthy settings. These unique spots don’t always have formal dining areas, allowing you to either drive through or stroll through to the outlets. With the climate in Qatar cooling down, the gentle breeze under the starry skies sets the perfect backdrop for savoring your favorite dishes in a relaxed, open-air atmosphere. Whether you are a fan of gourmet street food, fusion flavors, or traditional delights, this post is definitely for you.
Read on as we bring you some of our favorite night-out food spots in Qatar:
Marina Food Arena
Inspired by a typical food truck park, Lusail Marina Food Arena is one of the coolest places in Qatar. The outlets here are styled like food trucks and each outlet is designed in an individual style. One of our favorites is the upside down Abocado truck. There are over 70 food trucks to choose from, offering a variety of options including burgers, pancakes, cookies, ice creams and so much more. The Food Arena is located next to the Lusail Promenade and is perfect for a leisurely walk after your meal to burn off those calories.
Where: Lusail City
When: 10 am to midnight
Where to eat: Ink Cafe, Cheat Burger, Owl, XFire, SALT and more.
What’s Instagrammable: The view of the Crescent Tower from the Food Arena.
The Downtown
One of the newer outdoor food hubs to hit Qatar, The Downtown is the perfect spot for a little picnic under the stars. There are rows and rows of food kiosks at The Downtown and you can park your car and walk through the streets to pick what you want to eat. Many of the outlets have their own outdoor seating spaces. But if you don’t want to limit yourself to any one food outlet, you can choose the general seating areas. And if you don’t want to walk, you can rent a bicycle and go for a short ride. Alternatively, you can sit in the comforts of your car and order and the outlets will bring your food to you. Check out Dip and Smile, where food service comes with a little dance show.
Where: Al Waab
When: 1 pm to 3 am
Where to eat: Miky's Deli, Lassi Shop, Philly Cheesesteak, Munchbox and more.
What’s Instagrammable: The colorful and illuminated ‘I love Downtown’ signage.
Destination Box
Fan of the Box Park? Then you are going to love Destination Box. The food outlets here are housed in repurposed shipping containers that have been designed in unique styles. The colorful containers are stacked together, covered in graffiti and lit up brightly, creating an interesting ambience for a night out. And of course, you will find all the usual food joints here as well, with some outlets even having a dine-in option. You can choose to park and dine in your car or walk around the streets and enjoy the artistic creativity.
Where: Duhail Sports Club parking
When: 3 pm to 1 am
Where to eat: Exit 55, Poffy’s, Shawarma Shaheen, Karak Mqanes and more.
What’s Instagrammable: Graffiti art on the containers.
District One
The recently opened District One is located next to the Legtaifiya Metro Station, so you don’t really need to drive your way there. While District One has many eateries to satisfy every palate, it is more than a food hub and has loads of other stuff like paddle courts, garden and kids play area with inflatables. It is located next to the Legtaifiya night beach and many of the food outlets have dine-in options with a sea and playground view. You could even hire a tent on the beach for some personal, family time.
Where: Legtaifiya
When: 3 pm to 3 am
Where to eat: Crab Pot, Kachi, Joy Stix, Le Hamburg and many more.
