If you are an art & history connoisseur but also take joy in great dining experiences, here are some of the restaurants to try inside museums in Qatar.

IDAM by Alain Ducasse

The stunning architectural marvel of the Museum of Islamic Art also houses IDAM by Alain Ducasse. Occupying the top floor of the museum, the restaurant offers diners stunning panoramic views of the Doha skyline and Corniche. Alain Ducasse holds a whopping 21 Michelin stars, and is the brainchild behind IDAM’s food which reflects quality, sophistication and high standards. The menu features contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with an Arabic twist on the flavors.

Timings: Saturday to Thursday – 12.30 pm to 2 pm | 7 pm to 9 pm

MIA Café

MIA Café is located in the atrium of MIA’s beautiful building and has views of the Corniche and Doha skyline. The café offers a ray of hot and cold beverages, coffees, quick bites, and desserts and makes for the perfect pit-stop after exploring the museum’s vast collections.

Jiwan Restaurant

The second restaurant by Alain Ducasse in Qatar, Jiwan is another not-to-be-missed restaurant that occupies the top floor of the National Museum of Qatar. Keeping in theme with the museum, the restaurant’s ambiance and décor pay tribute to the Qatari landscape, and the menu is equally inspired by local flavors with a contemporary twist.

Desert Rose Café

The Desert Rose café is inspired by the very building in which it is housed and resembles the naturally occurring desert rose formation in its ambiance and décor. The café is run by Chef Nouf al Marri – one of the most experienced chefs in Qatari cuisine. The menu includes some contemporary Middle Eastern food, Qatari fusion food, coffee, and other beverages.

Café 875

One of the latest new cafes to open up in Qatar Museums, Café 875 is reminiscent of the traditional majlis experience in Qatar. The café is named after 875 which is a grade of finesse, and also signifies a purity of gold. The menu includes local and international flavors, coffees, snacks, and some specially curated meals.

Timings: Saturday to Thursday – 9 am to 7 pm

Fridays – 1.30 pm to 7 pm  

Café #999

Café #999 is inspired by the taste of Italy and is helmed by Ducasse Paris chefs. The ambiance is artful, fun, and inspired by retro and pop art. You can expect to find classic Italian dishes on the menu and it makes for a delightful culinary experience.

Location: Doha Fire Station

Timings: Saturday to Thursday – 9 am to 9 pm

Fridays – 1 pm to 9 pm

3-2-1 Café

If you are visiting the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum near Khalifa Stadium, then a visit to the 3-2-1 Café is definitely recommended. The café offers some really nutritious and healthy food & drink options to help you refuel.
