Have you ever witnessed a Perseid meteor shower in Qatar? Team Qatar Living was curious to discover this natural phenomenon that occurs every year for a limited time period.

With their insatiable quench for adventure and excitement to see the magic unravel before their eyes, the QL video team headed out to Umm Bab, outside of Doha.

The team figured out that the best strategy to make the trip a success was to find a dark observing site, away from light pollution.

After an unexpected stop on the way to rescue a family stuck in the dunes, the team reached the perfect spot where a surreal nightscape awaited them.

The Perseid meteor shower presented itself as a glittering night sky with specks of long bright streaks that left our team spellbound.

If you’re a nature lover and marvel at its magnificence, this is something you need to experience at least once in a lifetime.

The Perseid meteor shower is said to occur each year from July 23 to August 24. These showers happen as meteors, small particles of rock or metal enter the Earth’s atmosphere and start to glow due to friction. In the process of burning up, they create a blazing column of gas.
