How to prepare for a job interview in Qatar

With the FIFA 2022 World Cup around the corner, Qatar has been the hub for job openings. Numerous businesses and companies have opened their doors to job seekers as expanding the business is the ideal way to go for this season. So, if you’re successful in scoring an interview, we’re bringing you our QL tips for preparing for a job interview.
Research
We do understand that most of us when in dire need, tend to send out our CV to every place where we find it even slightly suitable. If you get a call for an interview, the first thing to do is conduct instant research on the company, the job description, and the duties that typically come under your job potential job title. It’s always best to go in thoroughly prepared with an idea of how you can add value to the company.
Practice the Common Interview Questions
Did you know when an interviewer asks you to ‘tell them about yourself’ you’re supposed to tell them all the things that are not on your CV? Similarly, there is always a list of basic questions that almost every company asks. It is best to practice your answers so you sound confident when these questions are thrown your way!
Dressing
Dressing conservatively will always earn you points when you’re interviewing in Qatar. Dresses and skirts that go below the knee with modest necklines will keep you in a safe spot!
Print Your Resume
Even though companies invite you for the interview after receiving your CV, they usually do not have it on hand during the interview. So, it is always best to have at least 2 prints with you. If applicable, carry your business card with you as well.
Ask Questions
When we ask you to do your research, it eventually comes in hand when cross questioning about the company, its culture, and the job during the interview. It shows your interest and knowledge in the company – as long as you know how to play this card respectfully!
Be Confident
Ever heard the phrase ‘own the room’? Well, that’s what you need to do. Your body language and greeting style add to the overall impression you tend to have so make sure it's a lasting one without crossing any professional boundaries! Make sure you make eye contact when answering questions and a gentle smile goes a long way!
More than anything, we’d recommend having faith in yourself before heading out for the interview!
