Resigning under probation
Hi, i would like to ask as im new here in qatar. I signed contract Nov. 1, 2019 but i was already working Oct. 16 2019 and a week before October ends i already did medical and biometrics. My question is can i still resign as im still on probation for 2months. I can not work anymore got my operation done (removing gall stones and gall bladder) dec.20,2019..im not currently working as for now my family wants me home as i can not work properly on this kind of situation. Please advise.
As per the last information I have, most workers can leave Qatar without going to their employers. Only some categories of employees are not allowed. I don't know which catagories require permission or exit permit from their employers before they can exit. You can check this out through any mandoob (PRO) you may know or possibly from people who do typing jobs around Doha. There are many of them in the city, Usually they are aware of the rules. Just do a bit of running around and drop in to some of their shops/offices. You can also check with the people at the passport & immigration offices and they will guide you best.
Hi, sorry that does mean i dont need exit permit from them? Coz i saw in some websites they might ask in the airport for exit permit ..if you dont have qid yet. Im just worried they wont let me out in the immigration incase something like that happened.
Thank you for answering.
If you don't have a QID then what is your worry? You don't have an RP also. Just don't bother about cancellation of the visa or anything like that. Collect your salary next month, buy a ticket and leave quietly if you have your passport with you. Suggest, don't get into a fuss with your company.
No problems if you ask many questions. If I can help anybody, I will do so always.
I was hired in outsource company..will they give me exit stamp something like that so that i can leave Qatar? Sorry for asking too much.
Depending on what type of management you have, some companies have an arm-twisting policy. They will insist they will suffer a loss in cost of visas, tickets etc. Don't give into that. If they still insist, you can take the support of the authorities or if you wish to leave quickly, bargain it out with them, Just tell them you will have QR 540 left in your pocket after you buy your ticket. Give then the 500 (40 riyals to go to the airport!) to get yourself your "freedom."
No i dont have my QID yet..but do i have to pay anything with them.
Yes, you can.
Have you received your Qatar ID yet? Do you have a legalized contract? Even if you have one, you can still resign. Send your resignation letter to your HR Manager through your personal email giving them say a week's notice. Since you are still under the probationary period, you can leave even immediately. Suggest, you wait another week or so patiently and put in your resignation after you receive your salary. Some companies hold back employee's salary in such cases.
