Qatar Living Jobs returns with the fourth episode of its Career Talks series, featuring prominent Qatar-based Life and Executive Coach Faten El Ayache.

In this video, Faten talks about ways to identify if you’re on the right career path.

More than often, people tend to become so involved with their daily job routine that they tend to overlook how that particular job supports their career progression.

To know if you’re on the right career path, you must ask yourself if what you are doing at the moment is taking you closer to your main goal, Faten suggests.

If your answer is positive, well and good, she says, but if it's negative you ought to ask yourself why is it so.

Faten advises you to try to pinpoint what exactly is preventing you from making a career move when your current job isn’t helping you move in the right direction.

There could be many reasons for this such as fear, fear of failure, fear of moving out of your comfort zone or self-doubt, Faten says.

In such a scenario, you could speak to a mentor or a coach or sit down and analyze your current role and ask yourself what would they do in this situation?

You are likely to reach a good understanding of yourself and how you can best support your career.

Life and Executive Coach Faten is also a TEDx Speaker, a pharmacist, a career development facilitator, a soft skills trainer, an NLP practitioner and a positive psychology practitioner.

Faten works on “empowering individuals of different career and social backgrounds including corporate executives, entrepreneurs, students, professionals, housewives and others who are keen on self-development to achieve their ultimate goals and who are striving to find their path.”
