How to host your friends & family during FIFA World Cup 2022

The most anticipated event of 2022, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is mere six months away and Qatar is expected to host a high influx of guests from 21 November to 18 December. Promising the most compact edition of the tournament in histort, the event will take place at eight stadiums in Qatar,

Here are a few things you need to keep in mind when you're planning to come for the World Cup:

Applying for a Hayya digital card is neccessary

Thousands of fans are planning to stay with their friends and family, taking in maximum benefit from the event. It is vital to know that every fan traveling to Qatar for the tournament will need to apply for the Hayya digital card. This card will be your and your hosts saviour in various ways including free public transport on match days. If your host is planning on attending the matches, request them to get there Hayya card made as well. If they are only hosting and not watching the matches, you can skip applying for the card in this case! If you are a Qatari citizen/resident who wishes to enter Qatar during the tournament, you are not required to apply for Hayya.

Part of the apporval process means being transparent about your stay during the tournament. If you are staying with your family or friends, you will need to register their property under the Alternative Accommodation tab

Are you a host?

Qatar residents planning to host ticketed family and friends should follow the below steps in order to provide a seamless experience for their guests:

Hosts should select the ‘Alternative Accommodation’ tab and follow the below steps:

• Add Qatar ID details
• Add the property name, zone, street, building and unit
• Select whether you own or rent the property 

After a property has been added, the below information needs to be added:

• Name of each guest
• Each guest’s passport number
• Each guest’s nationality
