Official ticket resale platform for FIFA World Cup 2022 opens today

 For those looking to resale their FIFA matches tickets, the official ticket resale platform opens today which enables ticket holders to sell off any extra tickets that they have. 

Hassan Rabia Al Kuwari, Executive Director of Sales, Marketing, and Communication for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, said during an interview with Qatar radio, “Some fans might have purchased more tickets than they need and others are trying to get tickets for their favorite matches. In these cases, the Resale Platform will be a great help for them,”

People still looking to buy more tickets can now access the tickets platform on the FIFA website, which will now remain operational until the end of the tournament. 

According to Al Kuwari, the demand for tickets started at an all-time high of 40 million applications with 2.5 million tickets being sold in the last stage. He added that the tickets will now be available throughout the tournament, whereas fans should expect some matches to be sold out due to their popularity.

Al Kuwari encouraged fans, especially citizens and expatriates, to avail this golden opportunity to purchase tickets and participate in the mega event.

He further emphasized on fans to apply for the Hayya Card, which will be their pass to enter the stadiums. 

“Al Atiyya Center for Hayya Card (Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena) opened beside Al Sadd Club which is the first Center for Hayya Card where fans can visit to get their Hayya Card and make inquiries if any,” said Al Kuwari.

He said the last-minute ticket sales phase opened on September 27 and will continue until the end of the tournament. During this interview, Al Kuwari also added that the tournament is prepared to host differently-abled fans as well, making sure all stadiums are equipped to host them, including support from attendants. 

Speaking about privileges to people in Qatar for obtaining tickets, Al Kuwari said: “Since Qatar will host the mega sporting event, under last minute-sale phase, individual match tickets are available in all four price categories, with category 4 tickets reserved for residents of Qatar including citizens and expatriates.” 

It is noted that category 4 witnessed a high demand with prices being relatively lower as well.
