The task dimension of our “Director of Projects” in the gypsum fitout industry is broad and encompasses strategic oversight, client management, and operational excellence.

In summary: The Director of Projects is responsible for the strategic direction and successful delivery of a portfolio of gypsum-focused interior construction projects, ensuring client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial success. This requires a blend of strong leadership, technical knowledge of gypsum fitout processes, business acumen, and exceptional project management skills. He will strive to win new business, achieve revenue targets, while reflecting the spirit of the company’s mission, vision, and motto in every action taken.

Here's a breakdown of the key areas:

1. Strategic Leadership and Planning:

• Developing and implementing project strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals within the gypsum fitout sector.
• Forecasting future project pipelines and resource needs based on market analysis and business development.
• Establishing and refining project management methodologies, standards, and best practices specific to gypsum fitout projects.
• Identifying and mitigating strategic risks that could impact the project portfolio or the company's reputation in the industry.
• Contributing to the overall business strategy by providing insights from project performance and market trends.

2. Client Relationship Management:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients in the commercial, residential, or other relevant sectors.
• Understanding client needs and expectations to ensure project delivery aligns with their vision for the gypsum fitout.
• Overseeing client communication and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Managing client satisfaction and addressing any concerns or disputes effectively.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities for repeat business and new projects with existing clients.

3. Project Portfolio Management:

• Overseeing multiple gypsum fitout projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Prioritizing projects and allocating resources (personnel, budget, materials) effectively across the portfolio.
• Monitoring project progress and performance through key metrics and reporting mechanisms.
• Identifying and resolving inter-project dependencies and conflicts.
• Ensuring consistent application of project management methodologies across all projects.

4. Operational Management:

• Directing and managing project managers and site teams involved in gypsum fitout works.
• Ensuring efficient and effective execution of fitout processes, from initial planning to final handover.
• Overseeing the tendering and quotation processes and win the company key profitable projects.
• Coordinating with the Procurement Department the management of materials specific to gypsum fitout, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards on all project sites.
• Implementing and monitoring cost control measures to maintain project profitability and Optimizing resource utilization. (material, labor, external labor, OT…)
• Differentiating the company by providing value engineering utilizing the abilities of the engineering, technical, and admin teams.
• Adopting AI solutions where applicable to modernize the department and improve its efficiency and effectiveness.

5. Team Leadership and Development:

• Building and leading high-performing project teams with expertise in gypsum fitout.
• Mentoring and developing project managers and other team members.
• Fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
• Ensuring effective communication and coordination within project teams.

6. Risk and Quality Management:

• Establishing and overseeing risk management plans for individual projects and the overall portfolio, specifically addressing risks associated with gypsum fitout (e.g., material delays, installation challenges).
• Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to ensure high standards of workmanship in all gypsum installations.
• Addressing and resolving any quality issues or defects promptly.

7. Financial Oversight:

• Managing project budgets and financial performance.
• Monitoring project costs and identifying potential overruns.
• Ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Contributing to the financial planning and forecasting for the projects department.

Requirements:

• Proven experience for 7 years minimum, with a strong focus on gypsum fitout projects in Qatar.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.  
• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions on-site.
• Good understanding of safety regulations and quality control procedures in construction.
• Preferred: Valid Qatar driving license.
• Strong Computer Skills.
