Description
EGA's Librarian manages and oversees the library's collection, providing students and staff with access to books, digital resources, and research tools. They develop and implement programs to foster a love of reading and support academic achievement, while also teaching information literacy and research skills. Additionally, the librarian collaborates with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum, ensures the library is a welcoming and organized space, and maintains an up-to-date catalog of materials.
Desired Skills & Experience
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field; a Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or Library and Information Science (MLIS) is often preferred.
Certification: State certification as a school librarian or media specialist, if required.
Experience: Experience working in a library setting, preferably in a school environment.
Knowledge: Understanding of library management systems, digital resources, and educational technologies.
