Description
Job Summary:The District Cooling Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the district cooling plant, including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and control systems. The operator monitors and controls plant equipment, performs routine checks, and responds to alarms and abnormal conditions to ensure uninterrupted cooling supply to clients.
Key Responsibilities:-
Operate and monitor district cooling plant systems including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and water treatment systems.

Perform regular inspections and readings of gauges, meters, and control panels.

Respond promptly to alarms and abnormal conditions, taking corrective action to maintain plant integrity.

Log all plant activities, equipment status, and operational data accurately and timely.

Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Support in planned shutdowns, startups, and maintenance activities as required.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Assist in water quality testing and dosing of chemicals as part of the plant's water treatment program.

Report any equipment malfunctions or abnormalities to the Plant Supervisor.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the plant area at all times.

Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and technical skills.

Desired Skills & Experience
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in operating HVAC or district cooling systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of chiller systems (centrifugal or absorption), pumps, valves, control panels, and water treatment.
Ability to read P&ID diagrams, technical manuals, and operational data.
Proficient in using BMS/SCADA systems for monitoring and control.
