Description

•  Conduct inspections of surface preparation and coating application processes.
• Verify that coating materials are stored, mixed, and applied per manufacturers’ technical data sheets (TDS).
• Review and verify compliance with client specifications, project standards, and international codes (e.g., SSPC, NACE, ISO).
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) prior to and during coating application.

Perform inspection tests such as:

1. Surface profile (anchor pattern)
2. Dry Film Thickness (DFT)
3. Holiday detection
4. Adhesion tests
5. Wet Film Thickness (WFT)

• Maintain detailed inspection records and daily reports.
• Ensure proper calibration of inspection instruments (DFT gauges, hygrometers, etc.).
• Witness coating trials and qualification tests (when applicable).
• Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
• Conduct and document final inspections and prepare handover dossiers.
• Attend client and third-party inspections and meetings as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

 Certification: NACE Level II Coating Inspector (mandatory)

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 - 8  years of relevant experience in coating/painting QA/QC in industrial sectors (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemical, marine).

Knowledge of international coating standards (SSPC, ASTM, ISO, etc.)

Familiar with QA/QC documentation, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements.
