Description
We are seeking an experienced CFO for our client in Baghdad, Iraq. If you are ready to hit the ground and roll your sleeves from day one, we will be happy to onboard you. Your experience, leadership approach, skills and knowledge play a crucial role for this position.
Start Date: Immediately
Preferred Nationalities: Iraqi or Arab
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Management Team, responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization. The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership, guide financial planning and analysis, and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, risk management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate finance, a strong understanding of financial regulations and standards, and a proven track record of supporting business growth and profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's long-term business goals.
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the GCEO and Board of Directors based on financial analysis and projections.
2. Financial Operations and Reporting:
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, tax, treasury, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports and forecasts.
- Manage cash flow, investment strategies, and capital structure to ensure the company's financial stability and liquidity.
3. Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and manage financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
4. Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other senior executives and department heads to support the company's strategic initiatives.
- Provide financial training and guidance to non-financial managers to enhance their understanding of financial concepts.
5. Investor Relations and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and other financial stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other external partners.
- Communicate the company's financial performance, strategy, and outlook to shareholders and stakeholders.
6. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
- Lead the financial due diligence and integration of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
- Assess the financial impact of potential acquisitions or divestitures and provide recommendations to the executive team.
- Ensure the successful integration of acquired entities and the realization of financial synergies.

Desired Skills & Experience
Requirements
- Intensive experience as a CFO in Real Estate Development and Construction or similar field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CFO.
- Bilingual (Arabic and English)
- Has hands on experience on financially managing huge projects preferably residential.
- Experience in Iraq is a plus.
- Leadership, negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills.
