Description
Ø Inspecting and testing AC motors and generators to identify problems.
Ø Replacing damaged or worn parts, such as bearings, coils, and brushes.
Ø Cleaning and lubricating motors and generators to ensure proper operation.
Ø Aligning and adjusting motor and generator components to ensure proper function.
Ø Testing repaired motors and generators to ensure proper function and performance.
Ø Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems.
Ø Performing preventive maintenance on motors and generators to prevent breakdowns.
Ø They must possess a strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to diagnose and solve problems quickly and accurately.
Ø Should be able to diagnose motor problems by using various testing methods and tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers.
Ø AC rewinder Technician must reassemble the motor and test its performance. This involves reattaching the motor's casing and conducting various tests to ensure it operates correctly.
Ø AC rewinders must keep accurate records of the motors they repair, including information on the parts used, the work performed, and any testing results.
Ø Must follow strict safety procedures when working with electricity and heavy machinery. They must wear protective gear, such as gloves, goggles, and helmets, and follow all relevant safety guidelines and regulations.
AC rewinder Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of AC motors used in various industries. They must possess a wide range of technical skills and knowledge, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desired Skills & Experience
Ø High school diploma or equivalent: EM Technicians typically need at least a high school diploma / ITI or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Ø Must have worked on at least Five (05) year’s for AC / DC Motor Repairs and overhauls as hands on experience. Ø Technical training through a vocational school, this training may include courses in electrical theory, motor operation, and maintenance, usually need practical experience in repairing and maintaining AC Motors. Ø Must have a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including knowledge of wiring diagrams, circuitry, and electrical safety practices. Ø Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to work with precision and accuracy, particularly when rewinding coils. |
Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and supervisors to discuss motor problems, repair plan, and testing results.
