My journey as a Commis 3 has been one of dedication, continuous learning, and hands-on experience in both local and international kitchen environments. I began my culinary path with a strong educational foundation, completing a Diploma in Hotel and Hospitality Management where I trained across key departments such as housekeeping, front office, food & beverage, and kitchen. I further enhanced my skills through an NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery and a specialized Food & Beverage course at SLITHM Koggala. My professional experience started as a kitchen helper at Araliya Resort in Pinnawala, where I was introduced to the fast-paced environment of a professional kitchen, focusing on cleanliness and mise en place preparation. I then advanced to a trainee position at Seed Cafe, gaining confidence in preparing beverages like smoothies and juices. The most transformative part of my journey came with my role as Commis 3 at Thai Charm Restaurant in Ahangama, where I immersed myself in authentic Thai cuisine. I was responsible for preparing mise en place, creating Thai salads, appetizers, desserts, and drinks, while also assisting the Head Chef with main courses and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. Throughout my journey, I have developed key professional traits including teamwork, time management, leadership, and critical thinking. With fluency in English and Sinhala and a strong passion for culinary arts, I am committed to growing further in the kitchen brigade, learning from experienced chefs, and delivering high-quality dishes with consistency and care.
