Well, I'm new here from Canada... Barely got off a plane a week ago, and well, have no idea whats fun to do around here...

Mind you, I barely know anyone here too... I'm in my 20s and the people I work with a considerably older and boring.

Soo... What's fun to do here in Qatar?!!?

I'm definitely up for meeting new people, hanging out and such...

Qatar is DVD region 2, this also includes most of Europe and the Middle East.

As Super7 stated, DVD players can be modified in numerous stores throughout Doha.

What you need to do is go to the rugby club (training for men is on Sundays and Wednesdays at 7pm) and meet some people. Once you have met some people they will sign your form

web address for rugby club is http://www.doharugbyfc.com/

It is near Doha college school.

Open to all canadian, there are junior teams and vets teams and a league side that plays clubs all over the region every weekend.

This area has no region for DVDs and all machines are converted to be multi region (i.e. play DVDs from 1, 2 , 3 etc)

Hello everyone,

Perhaps this is a silly question, but since TV watching seems to be a big activity among expats in Doha, is there a good selection of DVDs available? And what system zone is it (north america zone 1, etc..)

Also, regarding the rugby clubs, are they open to an enthusiastic amatuer? I have not played in quite some years but am still in reasonable shape, so maybe...

Finally, cycling groups? Is there anyone who knows anything about any organized rides?

Thanks,

Ace, is there anything you wanted to tell us?

Arkangel, is best if you join a club and slowly get to know people. Are you single, if so a club might be a bit difficult.

Otherwise, fun in this country means: beach, eating out, parks, sports, desert driving, shopping at the city centre and watching tv.
