that's most stupid thing that builders still do!!! they know the water will overheat in summer time and still put the water tank on the roof under the sun!
- build an isolated room for the tank.
- move the tank to the inside!
- add a chiller like they use on swimming pools.
If you have any flat surfaces above the tank, or on the roof (if the tank is below it), you can plant grass on it, and it will keep everything below it much cooler.
Another and cheap way is buy a bucket leave the water in the bath room it will cool down to room temperature.
call 4665501 tadmur company,they sell aqua chill,but it will cost you 3k including installation.
try any of these......
1 you can install some shade for you roof tank.
2 insulate you water tank with glass wool.
3 install a heat exchanger.
4 As some1 said before switch off the power of the gyser and use water through the hot water side of your tap.
Yea, you can arrange for some shade for the tank and also use some uva/uvb reflecting material on top.
there is a simple way not to get it hot
u can insulate it with a woolen glass blankets 100 mm thickness so the heat will not be trancefared to the water inside .
I knew a person who used to install chiller for these tanks to keep them cool in summer..but he aint in Qatar anymore..however, that gives an idea that there is so called tank chiller units available.
The installation charge with the chiller was somewhere near 2k.
there are also certain types of tanker cooler's available in the market! do chek em out!
