Traffic is a mess....

By superuser

This is an appeal to the authorities to wake up and segregate the timings between schools and offices. Qatar is growing more than anyone could have predicted or imagined. Population, traffic, everything is on the rise and there is no significant step from the authorities to tackle the traffic situation. I think it's time that Qatar also segregates the timings for offices and schools. A 2 hour gap between schools and offices should make a significant difference. Schools 7am-1pm and offices 9am-5pm is usually in every heavily populated country across the world.

I have said it before also here not to allow trailers, trucks, cranes etc etc during peak hours and some real traffic control. Inspite of it being covered in GT some days back, still people turn left from the straight going lanes on signals or blocking the straight going lanes as they want to turn. In Abu Dhabi if you cannot get into the lane you intend to keep driving till the next U trun and come back but you arent supposed to be blocking the lanes. But in a country where picking up grocery, icecream, coke can, etc etc or getting down from the cars right in front of the shop/mall doors blocking the traffic is so normal, getting things streamlined seems to be a distant dream. Current traffic snarls are also due to various construction work going around, but that should be acceptable.

09 Am to 05 Pm office timing sounds good but what about 2 shift offices like 08.00 AM to 01.00 PM then 04.00 PM to 8.00 PM.

I suggest government should look into the matter and declare all the office should be straight 1 shift.
