The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) has announced that Doha Metro’s Gold Line will be open to the public on Thursday, November 21 for the trail operation.

The Line runs from Ras Bu Abboud station to Al-Aziziyah station.

The Gold Line comprises 11 stations that run from east to west across Doha. Starting from Ras Bu Abboud, Nation Museum, Suq Wakif, Musheireb, Bin Mahmoud, Al Sadd, Sudan, Jawaan, Al Waab, Sports City, and the last stop is Al-Aziziyah station.

The operation time for the Gold Line will be the same as the Red Line, Saturday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, and on Friday from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Metro users can interchange between the Red Line and the Gold Line at Musheireb station.

In order to cover larger areas and serve more neighborhoods adjacent to the stations, new routes will be allocated to the Metrolink services. Metrolink and Metroexpress services will be available during the Metro operational hours.

Rides cost QAR 2 for a single journey and QAR 6 for a day pass (Standard) while those traveling the Goldclub class will be charged QAR 10 and QAR 30, respectively.

The fee for acquiring a Standard Travelcard is QAR 10 while the Goldclub card costs QAR 100 (valid for five years from the date of purchase); credits for travel have to be added on to these cards. Children aged below five can travel for free.
