Cocooned within Doha’s luxurious Al Messila Resort & Spa, the first Luxury Collection resort in the Qatari capital – is a Wellness Retreat whose name is set to resonate around the Gulf and worldwide as guests connect to the very best version of themselves.

Al Messila Wellness Retreat already has the distinction of being the region’s first ladies wellness destination and its high individualist offering is set to further raise the region’s wellbeing bar through its holistic experiences which enrich both mind and body.

Al Messila Wellness Specialists relate this one-of-a-kind wellness sanctuary to a pearl reflecting its safe and nurturing environment, the very same characteristics required for the precious gem to flourish.

And it’s not just this nurturing approach which sets this wellbeing center apart. The retreat is distinctive because of its world-class and comprehensive hydro-thermal facilities – the first of its kind in Qatar. Here guests find three therapy pools and four hydro wellness Worlds - Oriental, Floral, Mystic, and Mineral; each with floatation tanks, cocoon beds, oxygen rooms, Kneipp walks, Hammams and salt rooms that are experienced in personalized four-hour sessions.

Guests can also luxuriate in pools, steam rooms and saunas accessed alongside a premium range of treatments and protocols that are 100% exclusive to Al Messila.

“The overall resort experience at Al Messila focuses on the wellbeing of our guests and our Wellness Retreat provides a safe and nurturing environment,” said Patrizia Hofer, General Manager of Al Messila Resort & Spa.

“The Worlds open up a whole new universe of wellbeing that transcend a conventional spa, providing holistic experiences that touch the body and the spirit,” added Dr. Alison Stone, General Manager of Al Messila Ladies Retreat.

Leveraging on the traditional wellness practices of the East, the richly decorated Oriental World provides cleansing rituals designed to eliminate toxins and negativity, bringing guests spiritually closer to positive energies. The Mystic World instead reaches out to guest’s inner selves through the calming sounds of nature, sensory stimulators, and chromotherapy to enlighten the spirit.

In the Mineral World, guests are exposed to the powers of the ocean, where they can dive in and indulge in healing elements, while the Floral World wraps them in a cocoon of beauty, enlivened by the scent of flowers, which they can inhale to leave them blooming with wellness.

The Worlds are just a part of the extensive offerings of the Wellness Retreat. Two-hour wellbeing treatment sessions, selected from a wide range of services, can address specific guest needs and preferences. The Meridian Foot Therapy will enliven the weariest of feet while the Holistic Muscle Stretch and Holistic Massage Therapy take the strain of the day away. The Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage with Herbal Compress prompt totally relaxation. The Pre-Natal Massage puts Mums-to-Be in a calming state. Stress is eased away through the Deep Tissue Massage. De-Stress Therapy, Detox Massage, Body Contour Massage, Holistic Hot Stone Therapy and the 7:00 am to 9:00 pm timings make treatments a convenient option for even the time-pressed.

The Wellness Retreat is a signature offering of the luxurious Al Messila urban oasis which is surrounded by an indigenous environment of trees, birds, and water. “Our passion for transformative wellness journeys is the core of our holistic wellbeing offering,” explained Dr. Stone. “The retreat is at the heart of our wellness approach bestowing an array of wellbeing services integrated through lifestyle and fitness programs and personalized wellbeing journeys.”

Specialists escort guests on a tailor-made journey, where they begin to embrace wellness, drifting into a state of equilibrium between mind and body. Guests in search of holistic therapies based on ancient traditions can discover them in individualistic private suites, each with their own steam rooms and hydrotherapy.

“Each guest is supported by a team of qualified retreat coordinators who curate personal programmes based on individual needs and goals, all with long-term wellbeing and balance in mind,” added Dr. Stone.

The retreat is nothing short of expansive. Its sheer breadth of offering includes 26 treatment rooms, two fully equipped gyms, private training, spinning, and movement studios, three mineral therapy pools, and daylight enhanced private recreational pool. Sessions can be rounded off with a break at the Food Lab cooking classroom, where wellness-focused chefs create delicious food for healthy lifestyles, with treatments at the full-service beauty salon by world-renowned brand Toni & Guy or by make-up applications performed by highly skilled practitioners, leaving guests looking at their very best.

Wellness and wellbeing are growing trends among the women of the world and especially the ladies in the Arabian Gulf who have long been celebrated for their love of all things associated with beauty. Instagram attests to the demand. One thing is certain though, in a market which is sure to grow, Al Messila’s retreat will remain incomparable.
