Travel to Antalya directly from Doha this summer with Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines launched direct flights from Doha to Antalya earlier in June this year and we thought this would be the perfect time to visit this beautiful Turkish coastal City.

Turkish Airlines has launched TWO weekly direct flights from Doha to Antalya starting from 21 June until 30 September 2022 for all those looking to enjoy a relaxing vacation in one of the country's most stunning summer destinations.

As the summer in Doha is reaching its peak, the Antalya getaway came as a much need relief. When Turkish Airlines contacted us for the trip, the mere thought of the picturesque turquoise beaches gave us momentary relief from the harsh realities of Qatar weather.

Turkish Airlines invited Qatar Living on an all expenses paid trip to experience Antalya, and what an experience it was.

This year, millions of tourists are eyeing the fastest-growing city in Türkiye for its state-of-the-art resorts and exceptional scenery, tailored to provide visitors with the best travel experience no matter what their preferences are.

Flying business class with Turkish Airlines

We may go as far as saying that flying Turkish Airlines’ business class was the best part of the trip. Maybe the flights from Doha to Antalya may seem slightly outdated but they sure make up for it with the super-friendly cabin crew.

We enjoyed some fine Turkish hospitality while the onboard crew pampered us. Throughout our comfortable journey in business class, we were presented with the finest Turkish and international cuisine served up on stylish porcelain tableware.

The in-flight entertainment was topnotch with a decent variety of shows, movies & games. You are also provided with a modest Philips headset for a pleasant viewing experience. You basically get your own 18-inch screen with adjustable angle and a touchpad remote control with 4" screen in case you are too lazy to operate the screen.

Turkish Airlines also makes sure that you stay connected at all times. Once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet in the air, you can enjoy uninterrupted Internet until the doors are opened at the destination, making it a Gate to Gate Internet service.

Antalya - The Pearl of the Mediterranean

Antalya's unique mix of beautiful beaches and alluring traditional Turkish culture has earned the city the title of ‘The Pearl of the Mediterranean," and now, Turkish Airlines can take you directly to enjoy the coastal city experience in no time.

We arrived at Antalya’s modest but modern airport, collected our bags and headed to our next favorite part of the trip - the hotel!

Our airport transfer, hotel stay and itinerary was managed by Dorak Signature, a tourism and hospitality company based in Türkiye. The Dorak Signature chauffeurs were friendly and accommodating and even stopped on the way to help us get SIM cards (Tip: Do not buy SIM card from or near the airport as they may charge almost double the price)

Dorak Signature transported us to Gloria Hotels and Resorts, a lush green resort in Belek that’s about an hour’s drive from the Antalya Airport. It is a bit far from the city center so it’s not ideal if you’re planning to tour spots in downtown Antalya. However, we were not disappointed.

We arrived at Gloria Hotel’s gorgeous property - The Gloria Serenity Resort, a luxurious beach hotel. This is where we would be staying for the next four days. However, we also had access to two other hotels on the same property - Gloria Golf Resort that had a 45-hole golf course and the Gloria Verde Resort.

The rooms at The Gloria Serenity Resort were cozy and the views from our balcony were stunning. If you are lucky, you get a beautiful view of the resort’s landscape and gardens. They also offer Queen, King and Presidential villas that are great for bigger groups or families that are looking for a private and luxurious experience.

Just like most hotels in Antalya, The Gloria Serenity Resort offers an ultra-inclusive package, where you essentially pay for nothing once you check-in to the property. From food and drinks to Internet and other amenities, everything is covered. We recommend that you confirm with hotel staff to see the full list of benefits.

Other things to do in Antalya

If you are in the mood to venture out, Antalya has much to offer. Apart from enjoying the sandy beaches and turquoise open ocean waters at the resort, we also did a few fun activities.

Roam the cobblestoned pathways of Kaleiçi Old Town

As such, the old town is a significant site in Türkiye, where Europe and Asia meet, harking back to a past with rich culture and heritage. Take in all the sights and wander around the narrow streets along the Ottoman-era houses, some of which have been transformed into small hotels or business establishments.

This is also a great place to buy souvenirs and Turkish sweets to take back home. Feel free to bargain to get a good price on anything you buy here.

Ride the cable car

We drove all the way to Kemer to experience the cable car that everyone suggested as a must-try activity. We tried Olympos Teleferik, which is an aerial tramway located in the center of Beydağları Coastal National Park at the summit of Tahtalı Mountain and can go as high as 2,365m.

As you can see, the view of city and the national park from the cable car are stunning. Once you reach the summit, you have some refreshment options as well as opportunities to take pictures and buy souvenirs.

Visit Land of Legends

With its numerous attractions, including the fairy tale castle, a huge water park, and an exciting adventure park, the Land of Legends is a great place to experience entertaining moments.

The facility is not just a daily attraction, it's also a full experience where you can spend a few days of your trip.

There’s so much more we could have done, but we’ll save them for our next visit to Antalya. If you're planning your next trip, we highly recommend Antalya.

Take advantage of Turkish Airlines' direct flight from Doha to Antalya until September 30, 2022.
