MABUHAY !!!  Welcome to the largest and fastest growing group in Qatar Living!

Though the group name say the word "Filipino", this does not mean that only the ones from the Philippines could join this group. Anybody who is Filipino and loves the Filipino is welcome. This comradeship in QL will pave way to more opportunities of meeting and knowing more people in the group, within the site and outside of it.

Feel free to start forum topics wherein we could talk in Tag-Lish (Tagalog-English) about everything and anything under Qatar's sun but without making other QL members uncomfortable with us talking in our mother tongue. We encourage members to write more relevant topics in English so that others who do not speak our mother tongue can also contribute useful information to topics of importance. This way we could COMPLEMENT the objectives of the website owner/s.

In order to help those who are new to this forum, we have taken a note of the topics discussed and placed under it the relevant thread. You can read through those or add your information to it in order to make the thread more up-to-date especially to those new in Qatar. -QL Filexpatriates Admins

Edukasyon sa Pinas: 2 more years of school a must, say educators

MANILA, Philippines--The next administration should “immediately” add two more years to elementary and high school education in the country, an education expert said.

In an interview with the Inquirer, University of the Philippines (UP) history and education professor Maria Serena Diokno said the Philippines is the only country in the world stuck in a 10-year basic education system.

Diokno said a longer basic education was needed and its implementation was “just a matter of political will.”

It takes six years to complete grade school and four years to complete high school in the country, compared to other countries where basic education takes 12 years.

defining our times and circumstances..

Defining our times and circumstances
.
By HERN ZENAROSAMarch 19, 2010, 5:06pm
.

The unfolding impulse of politics that Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilbert Teodoro Jr. is expecting to come from the youths and more intelligent voters to bring him to the presidency may be correct – but only partly.

Mostly, it will come from himself being distinct and different from the rest of the crowd of “presidentiables” and political adversaries.

Unlike all the others to whom politics seems a never ending game, Teodoro brings seriousness to his campaign both in manners and in his utterances, defining our times and circumstances.

Need advice and help from tere concina

Good day po!One year na ako nsa Pinas ngayon.

Please give me some advice.Pa ask na rin baka meron matutulong mga kaibigan nyo.Salamat po.
