Question regarding format of this forum

I'm curious as to why the format of Mums in Doha is different from, say, the "Family Life" forum. I find it difficult to read. . .maybe it's just because I'm a newbie, but I much prefer the other format.
Just wondering if someone can shed some light on it for me.

Thanks!

Knitting needle wanted

My mum is here at long last and she wishes to do some knitting. We found yarn in the Al Rawnaq - but strangely they did not have any knitting needle .

The staff was not very keen on giving information - so I am turning to you : is there any other shop selling yarn and needle in this country ?

Aussie Mums ABC website...

This is a great website for those aussie mums whose toddlers are used to watching ABC television shows like wiggles, bananas in pajamas. peppa pig, shaun the sheep etc...

It has activities, coloring pages print outs, make and do etc etc...I know my son loves it and with the absence of these characters here, its a goos place for toddlers to go.

How left handed kids are treated here ?

I was shocked when one of my friend told me about her four year old .She goes to Arabic kindergarten .She is left handed and she is sucking her thumb .The left one . She had developped serious anxiety disorder about falling asleep - and it turned out that one of the teacher had told her - that the left hand belongs to the devil - and when she is sleeping with her left hand's thumb in her mouth she is sleeping by the devil .

I had thought that the teachers are more enlightened here .

Is it only an isolated case or this is the norm here to treat left handed kids ?
