2G iPod touch to have Bluetooth capability unlocked by iPhone OS 3.0
By Saurabh7 on Wed, 29/04/2009 - 5:32pmLooks like that Bluetooth chip in the iPod touch 2G we've always thought was for Nike+ suddenly got a lot more useful: Apple's Greg Joswiak said that Bluetooth can be "unlocked" on the device during the iPhone OS 3.0 Q&A session. That's two years of rumors put to rest, right there, and a solid move, seeing as three of the major 3.0 features are A2DP, wireless accessory control and peer-to-peer connections over Bluetooth. Any touch owners feeling more inclined to drop the $9.95 now?

Motherboard and graphics card makers cutting back
By genius_qa on Sat, 15/11/2008 - 9:14pmSeveral motherboard and graphics card makers saw serious overstock problems in the second half this year and started to cut prices several months ago in order to clear their inventory due to falling demand.
In addition to clearing inventory, makers have also cutback production capacity and reduced component purchasing, and have also started laying off personnel or have suspended hiring to prevent cash shortages.
First-tier makers Asustek Computer, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) have already cut capacity and started inventory control measures.

Nvidia to cut graphics card prices to counter AMD market share gains
By genius_qa on Sat, 15/11/2008 - 9:11pmWith AMD making gains in the discrete graphics card market – rising to around 40% in third-quarter 2008 according to a recent report from Jon Peddie Research (JPR) – Nvidia is planning to cut its graphics card prices in an attempt to curb further loss of market share, according to sources at graphics card makers.
AMD anticipates taking 50% of the market after reducing prices for its ATI Radeon HD 4000 series products, but to counter Nvidia has also made moves to cut prices for its GeForce GTX 200, 9800 GT and 9600 GT series.
