Qatar’s athletes delivered another dominant day at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, with standout performances in shooting, swimming, athletics, fencing, equestrian, and billiards, helping the hosts maintain top spot in the overall standings with 82 medals, including 30 gold, 26 silver, and 26 bronze.
Shooting Success at Lusail Range

At the Lusail Shooting Range, Qatar’s shooters secured nine medals, including three gold, one silver, and five bronze.
Reem Al Sharshani starred by winning double gold in the women’s individual and team skeet events. She claimed individual gold ahead of Bahrain’s Mariam Al Asam, while Qatar’s Hajar Mohammed took bronze.
Al Sharshani later teamed up with Sarah Mohammed and Hajar Mohammed to win team gold ahead of Bahrain and Kuwait.
Qatar added another shooting gold through Rashid Saleh Al Athba, who won the men’s skeet title after a tense final against Kuwait’s Mohammed Al Awadh, while Saudi Arabia’s Naif Al Mutairi secured bronze.
Qatar also claimed bronze in the men’s skeet team event through Al Athba, Ali Ishaq and Mohammed Al Kuwari.
In the rifle events, Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti earned bronze in the men’s 10M air rifle individual competition and added another bronze in the team event alongside Ali Al Muhannadi and Khalid Al Sharshani.
In the women’s 10M air rifle competitions, Ritaj Al Yafai, Maha Al Ali, and Dalal Al Qubaisi secured team silver, while Al Yafai added individual bronze.
Swimming Team Ends Campaign in Style

Qatar’s swimming team also enjoyed a superb final day in the pool, winning eight medals, including two gold, three silver, and three bronze, to conclude their campaign with 26 medals overall, comprising 13 gold, nine silver, and four bronze.
Saad Al Din claimed gold in the men’s 1,500M freestyle after setting a new Games record of 15:19.77sec, while teammate Emil Fouzai secured bronze.
Qatar added another gold in the men’s 4x100m medley relay through Abdullah Al Ghamri, Mohammed Mahmoud, Tamim Al Humaida, and Ali Tamer, who set a new Games record of 3:45.66sec.
Tamim Al Humaida won silver in the men’s 50M backstroke, Mohammed Mahmoud secured silver in the men’s 200M breaststroke with Hamza Shaalan taking bronze, while Ali Tamer earned silver and Mohammed Aziz bronze in the men’s 100M butterfly.
Athletics Team Continues Golden Run

In athletics, Qatar added six more medals, including three gold, one silver, and two bronze, during the second day of competition at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
Ashraf Al Saifi won gold in men’s hammer throw with a distance of 70.18M, while teammate Ahmed Al Saifi took bronze. Ammar Ibrahim secured gold in men’s 400M race ahead of teammate Ashraf Othman, who claimed silver.
Samar Al Mansouri added another gold for Qatar in the women’s pole vault after clearing 3.50M, while Omar Abkar secured silver in the men’s 110M hurdles. Qatar ended the day top of the athletics standings with 20 medals, eight gold, five silver, and seven bronze.
Fencing, Equestrian, and Billiards Add to Medal Haul

Qatar’s fencing team also impressed by collecting three medals, highlighted by gold in the men’s team foil event through Khaled Al Yafai, Abdullah Khalifa, Ali Turki Al Athba and Abdulrahman Bughrib.
The hosts added bronze in the men’s team epee through Yousef Abdul-Tawab, Mohammed Abdul Ali, Mohammed Al Hazza, and Abdulrahman Al Jadra, as well as bronze in the women’s team foil through Dhikrayat Al Abdullah, Sheikha Ali, and Fatima Al Maadheed. Qatar had earlier secured gold and silver in the individual foil competition through Ali Turki Al Adhba and Khalid Hussein.
In equestrian, Bassem Mohammed won bronze in the individual show jumping competition riding Wathnan Chakbol after Qatar had earlier secured gold in the team event.
Qatar also celebrated success in billiards, with Bashar Hussein claiming silver in the 9-ball singles after reaching the final with victories over opponents from Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia before losing to UAE’s Mahmoud Sharif.
Saudi Arabia remained second overall with 51 medals - 20 gold, 15 silver, and 16 bronze - while Bahrain stayed third with 41 medals, including 16 gold, 17 silver, and eight bronze.
