Argentina advanced to the FIFA World Cup 2026 final after defeating England 2-1 in the semifinal at the Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday, July 15.
Anthony Gordon gave England the lead in the 55th minute before Enzo Fernández equalised for Argentina in the 85th. Lautaro Martínez then scored the decisive goal in the second minute of added time (90+2) to seal Argentina’s place in the final.
Argentina will face Spain in the final on July 19, while England will meet France in the third-place playoff.
