Mediators Qatar, Egypt, Turkiye condemn ongoing Israeli violations in Gaza Strip

Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye, in their capacity as mediators, have expressed their strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, particularly the targeting of health facilities and the resulting civilian casualties, including women and children. These actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

The mediators stressed the necessity for Israel to adhere to all its obligations under international law and to fully implement its commitments stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.

They emphasized that the continuation of these violations constitutes a breach of the agreement, undermines efforts to implement its second phase, especially following Hamas and other Palestinian factions' acceptance of the Roadmap, particularly regarding the disarmament of militias, threatens the ceasefire process, and exacerbates the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The mediators reiterated their call for ensuring the full protection of civilians, medical facilities, and humanitarian personnel, and for guaranteeing the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid and medical supplies to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

The mediators also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and exert the necessary pressure on Israel to fulfil its obligations under international law and the ceasefire agreement, to ensure the completion of the implementation of the US President’s peace plan, which he described as reaching an agreement on the second phase as a historic agreement, and to prevent undermining efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable truce, leading to a permanent ceasefire and an end to the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.
