Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held separate telephone calls on Monday with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs HRH Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, and Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The ministers discussed bilateral co-operation and the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint co-ordination to de-escalate and strengthen the region’s security and stability.
HE Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of all parties committing to dialogue and diplomacy, and implementing what was agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the USA and Iran, including freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, to maintain the region’s security, protect the gains made and enhance stability.
He renewed Qatar’s support for all efforts to defuse tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement establishing permanent peace in the region.
