Attitude towards Jewish Women?

mcswain27's picture

I am contemplating taking a position in Qatar - my fiancee would be coming with me. I am concerned because her parents are Jewish and she has a Jewish-sounding last name. Even though she has subsequently become a Christian, could she still have problems in Qatar?

Thanks for your help.

Don't fret about it. Unless she has a last name like Sharon, Olmert, Barak, etc. most people won't notice.

And she wouldn't be the first one to live and/or work in Qatar.

Do you know that Muslims, who are required to consume Halal meat, are permitted to eat Kosher meat?

correct. as long as she doesn't sport anything with a yamakah on it then she shouldn't face any problems whatsoever. ;)

hi there, congrats on obtaining a position here and i dont think you should have problems here regarding her family and religious background.

however i dont know the rules where an unmarried lady is visiting this place with her fiancee, you have to check that out.

but by nature people here are very tolerant and peaceful,no one wants to create an issue for anyone, irrespective of who they are. curious ones may ask questions, but then thats their work isnt it, asking questions?
