Indonesian community in Qatar

The UNESCO designated February 21st as the International Mother Language Day to be observed globally in recognition of the martyrs who fought to establish the rightful place of Bangla language. The proclamation was unanimously adopted in November 1999 through a resolution at the plenary meeting of the UNESCO at its headquarters in Paris. The resolution declared that, ‘21st February is proclaimed as International Mother Language Day to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on this very day in 1952’.

Teman2 sebangsa, saya Ami dari Medan, ibu bekerja, dah 3 thn tinggal di Doha.

Not really liking to live here, but got no choice except to follow my husband since he works for Qatarairways.

Gak bisa pulang sering, maklum terikat kerjaan dan sekolahnya anak2.

Saya lagi mikir, enaknya kalo disini ada jajanan pasar ala Indonesia, seandainya aja ada group ibu2 yg berminat tuk buka koperasi makanan ya, mmm pasti laris manis deh, terutama saya, pasti beli tiap hari hehehe ...

Ingat dulu di Medan, pagi2 sarapan lepat pisang, tahu isi, kue lapis, lontong sayur, dll, dsb deh ..

Maklum saya memang senangnya beli dr pada masak hehehe.

Setidaknya perlu ada yg menyelenggarakan bazar jajanan pasar indonesia, at least once a week yaa .. mmmm

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican fishing village.
A tourist complimented the local fishermen on the quality of their fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

"Not very long." they answered in unison.

"Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?"

The fishermen explained that their small catches were sufficient to meet their needs and those of their families

"But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

"We sleep late, fish a little, play with our children, and take siestas with our wives.
In the evenings, we go into the village to see our friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs.

The tourist interrupted,

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation.

Dear Son,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year.
I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren’t in prison.

hai, kenalkan..saya anggota baru disini. walo baru, tapi sudah sebulanan ini saya bikin akun QL ini. dan..ternyata, belum banyak perubahan. masih saja sepi.

tersentil oleh salah satu komen mungkin ada baiknya kita meramaikan forum ini. bukan untuk siapa2 tapi untuk kita sendiri, yang berangkat dari negara yang sama.

saya sempat kaget plus melas, ketika ada yang bertanya pada forum ini: means bliau benar2 butuh info saat mau pindah. tapi ternyata penduduk QL group indonesia tertidur pulas..

jadi kemana harus bertanya? apa semua orang indonesia yg ingin kesini mesti punya kenalan dulu? biar bisa tau gambaran qatar seperti apa?
