Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that another power generation and water distillation station had been targeted in an Iranian attack, causing a fire in one of its components.
The ministry said precautionary operational measures were taken to safeguard the station and its employees and to maintain the stability of the country’s electricity network.
Emergency teams began responding to the fire in coordination with the Kuwait Fire Force and other relevant authorities. All operational and emergency plans were activated immediately after the incident.
The ministry had announced on Friday that a fire at another power generation and water distillation station had been brought under control after an Iranian attack damaged a large number of electricity-generating units.
According to the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, Kuwait has faced a series of hostile missile and drone attacks coming from Iran since Friday night. The country’s air defence systems intercepted the attacks.
