Qatar’s Department of Meteorology has warned of strong winds affecting both inshore and offshore areas, with rough seas expected offshore.
According to the daily forecast, inshore weather until 6pm on Saturday will be relatively hot during the daytime, with a chance of slight to blowing dust in some areas at times. Visibility is expected to range between 5 and 9km, dropping to 3km or less in some areas at times.
Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 12 to 22 knots, with gusts reaching up to 28 knots during the day. Sea conditions inshore will range between 2 and 4 feet, rising to 5 feet at times.
Offshore, conditions will be partly cloudy, with a chance of light rain in northern areas early in the day. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 8 to 18 knots, occasionally gusting up to 25 knots. Sea heights offshore will range from 3 to 5 feet, increasing to as much as 8 feet at times, while visibility will range from 5 to 10 km.
The highest temperature expected in Doha is 34 degrees Celsius. Authorities have advised the public, particularly sea-goers, to exercise caution due to strong winds and rough sea conditions.
