Qatar Cricket President Elected to Asian Cricket Council Executive Board

HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Thani, President of the Qatar Cricket Association, has been elected as a member of the Asian Cricket Council Executive Board for 2026, representing the QCA.

The election took place during the ACC Annual General Meeting 2026, held in Bangkok on August 22.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the host country, Qatar, several Gulf Cooperation Council states and a number of Asian cricket associations.

The appointment strengthens Qatar’s representation within Asian cricket governance and expands its presence in sports decision-making bodies across the continent.

It also creates further opportunities for cooperation and development within the sport, while supporting efforts to increase cricket participation and expand its reach in Qatar and the wider region.

The election adds to Qatar’s growing presence in continental and international sports organisations and its involvement in the development of sport beyond the country.
