PIPE / STEEL FITTER

a) Must have experience and be able to hydro test pipe-systems and static equipment. Must have more than 3 years’ experience in pipefitting work in the Petrochemical or Power Generation industry.

b) Educational qualifications: ITI certificate (Approved Industrial training institute) or ONC or equivalent relevant discipline or standard based qualification (NVQ level 3) or equivalent. Nb. May be required to undertake Competency Based test witnessed by the COMPANY Discipline Engineer.

c) Must have a good understanding of QA/QC and HSE compliance audits.

d) Must be able to read isometric drawings and selection of right materials using bill of material

e) Must have experience in and be able to fit all piping and its fitting as per isometrics.

f) Must be able to interpret WPS for joint design allowance and make proper weld preparation including hi-low.

g) Must be able to fit a 45-degree pipe-to-pipe, lateral T, U bends etc. connections without putting pressure on piping.

h) Must have experience in and be able to place and remove spades and to open and close pipe flanges, recognize the gasket types and types of bolts.

i) Must be able to repair and make steam tracing.

j) Experience on flange face alignment using normal/powered tools without damaging the components

k) Capable enough to identify right torque value from COMPANY procedure/torque table

l) Must have experience in and be able to tighten bolts with a manual adjustable torque wrench upon getting certified as FT1 either by COMPANY or by SMEs from company approved tightening specialty service providers
