A Brief History

Tarfat Lusail was developed as one of the districts of Lusail City, the purpose-built city master-planned by Qatari Diar and constructed largely through the 2010s to expand Qatar's urban footprint north of Doha. Al Tarfa was designated as the city's leisure, retail and entertainment hub, and its build-out accelerated in the years surrounding Qatar's hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, when Lusail rose to national prominence. The district's centrepiece, Place Vendôme Qatar, opened in 2022, cementing Tarfat Lusail as a flagship lifestyle destination. Residential and mixed-use development in and around the district has continued to grow alongside these anchor projects.

The district combines contemporary mid- and high-rise apartment buildings with gated villa communities such as Les Maisons Blanches, giving it a mix of towers and low-rise compound living.
