Waterfront Residential is one of the 19 districts of Lusail City, a large planned development led by state-backed developer Qatari Diar and the Lusail Real Estate Development Company. Plans for Lusail were first announced in 2005, with construction of the wider city following in the years after, and it was conceived to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents while showcasing Qatar ahead of major international events. The Waterfront area was laid out as a dedicated seaside residential zone, and its towers and hospitality buildings have been delivered progressively as the city matured through the 2010s and 2020s.

Architecture & Character

The district is characterised by contemporary mid- to high-rise residential towers and hotel buildings set along the shoreline, with landscaped promenades, beaches and a marina at their base. The architecture leans modern and glass-fronted, emphasising sea-facing balconies and panoramic Gulf views, and some developments feature distinctive touches such as sky-bridge pools and podium-level amenities.
