The Social & Sport Contribution Fund "Daam" and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work have signed a funding agreement to support the vocational rehabilitation programme at Shafallah Center. The two organisations’ official English names are confirmed through their official and legal sources.
Under the agreement, Daam will provide financial support for a competency-based programme designed to develop the professional and practical skills of people with disabilities and improve their readiness to enter the labour market.
The programme targets Shafallah Center members aged between 15 and 20 and includes two training tracks.
The first track is designed for people with mild or moderate disabilities and will provide specialised vocational qualifications and skills aligned with local labour market needs.
The second track will support people with severe intellectual disabilities by developing workplace-readiness skills, independence and social adaptation.
The programme also includes training for the Center’s employees, enabling them to deliver vocational programmes based on the individual needs and abilities of each participant.
Fatima Saeed Al Saadi, Executive Director of Shafallah Center, said the partnership represents a strategic step towards developing the vocational rehabilitation system and improving employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The programme will begin by assessing participants’ abilities and career interests, followed by individual training plans and efforts to connect the skills gained with suitable employment opportunities in cooperation with government and private-sector organisations.
