The maritime cargo route connecting Iran's Dayyer Port and Qatar's Al-Ruwais Port has resumed operations following a five-month suspension caused by the recent conflict involving the United States and Israel.
According to Abbas Abdolkhani, Iran's commercial attaché in Doha, shipping services resumed after coordination between the Iranian Embassy in Doha and the Qatari authorities.
The two ports serve as important hubs for regional trade, with Al-Ruwais Port acting as one of the main gateways for Iranian exports to Qatar. During the conflict, Dayyer Port sustained multiple attacks, contributing to the suspension of maritime operations.
The reopening of the cargo route is expected to reduce transportation costs, accelerate the supply of goods, and strengthen trade between the two neighbouring countries.
Qatar has also played a key diplomatic role as one of the principal mediators between Iran and the United States in efforts to help bring an end to the conflict.
