Sidra Medicine launches home visits for children’s routine check-ups and vaccinations

Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation, has launched a new Children’s Home Visits: Routine Check-ups and Immunizations program, allowing eligible children to receive routine pediatric care in their homes.

The service is designed to give families greater flexibility while ensuring children continue to receive care from Sidra Medicine’s specialist pediatric teams without needing to visit the hospital for every routine appointment.

What services are included?

The home-visit program covers a range of routine pediatric services, including:

• General health assessments
• Growth and development monitoring
• Scheduled childhood vaccinations
• Feeding and lactation guidance
• Parent education

Each request is reviewed clinically before a home visit is approved to ensure the service is safe and appropriate for the child’s health needs.

Who is eligible?

The program is available to eligible Sidra Medicine patients, subject to clinical assessment and service availability.

Sidra Medicine stressed that the service is intended for routine pediatric care only and does not cover emergency or urgent medical conditions.

Families requiring immediate medical attention should continue to use the appropriate emergency or urgent-care services.

Dr Ahmed Al Hammadi, Chief of Pediatrics at Sidra Medicine, said regular health checks and vaccinations play an important role in supporting children’s healthy growth and development.

He said the home-visit program gives families more flexibility while allowing children to receive high-quality care in a safe and familiar setting.

The initiative also supports continuity of care by making it easier for families to keep up with routine health checks and scheduled immunizations.
